I recently purchased PICO-8 as part of the huge Itch.io bundle, and I've been enjoying myself immensely. My very first PICO-8 game is Sequence8.
Games stay compact and (approximately) within their intended audiences because to the platform's built-in restrictions. They can't have too many lexical or code tokens, sprites, sounds, or musical pieces. There are just four audio channels, a 128px square screen, and 16 different colors.
